“Someone else got my desire”
In a mirror there is no competition. Seeing your desire in another’s hands is evidence of nearness — and a test of your reaction.
What’s actually happening
The sting comes from a premise the law does not share: that there was one of the thing, and it is now gone. Under the Law of Assumption there is no warehouse with limited stock; there is your state, externalizing. The colleague’s promotion, the sold house, the friend’s engagement did not consume your supply — there was never a shared supply to consume.
Watch what the event did to your state, though, because that is where the real transaction happens. If seeing it in their hands settled you into "of course, it is that kind of world — mine is in motion," the sighting cost you nothing and may even have been your own assumption showing you the desire is active in your world. If it collapsed you into "there went mine," that collapse is a new felt assumption of loss, and THAT is the only thing that can actually take anything from you.
The correction

Rejoice deliberately, and not as saintliness — as technique. Hearing good news for another requires occupying a state of abundance, and occupied states externalize in your world too. Envy, meanwhile, is a felt declaration that the good is elsewhere.

Reframe the sighting: things appearing in your world — even in other hands — are the desire moving from "impossible" to "normal" in your consciousness. The neighborhood of your assumption is filling in.

Then return to your own scene, unedited. Your bridge was never routed through their hands. If the reaction was rough, revise it that night: replay hearing their news and feeling genuinely glad, with your own fulfillment quietly settled beside it.
